Classes start with a circle time (and a cup of tea) to connect and share experiences with other new mums, and ask any questions you might have.
Classes are led in a warm, relaxed, baby-led environment adapted to very young babies (think low lighting, baby ‘nests’ and blankets), where you can feed, soothe, change your baby as you baby requires.
There is no pressure for your baby to be settled, awake or quiet in class. This is all part of the flow of the class.
You will receive handouts of all the baby massage & selected postnatal yoga practices, so you can continue supporting both of your wellbeing at home.

More lovely words from First to Fourth mums
“Amelie is an incredible teacher, my son and myself loved her classes and felt very comfortable with her. She’s great with babies, and offers lots of practical first hand advice for the mums. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Amelie and truly believe she offers the best postnatal yoga classes in Richmond.”
— Sophia
“Amelie’s classes provided me with incredible tips for my own recovery, and a magical time with my little one. I loved the balance of sequences for mums, working on regaining strength and breadth of movement, and the massage, holds & walks with the babies. A perfect mix of self-care and baby care””

FAQs
Can I really start before my 6-week check?
Yes! While the majority of postnatal classes are only open to you once you’ve been given ‘the green light’ by your GP, my unique gentle approach means the class is not only safe but also beneficial for you from 4 weeks after birth, regardless of the type of birth you had (including Caesarean births).
Through the class, you will learn therapeutic exercises and stretches to support your postnatal recovery, unwind upper body tension and soothe your exhausted nervous system, with handy handouts to take home.
What if my baby cries or sleeps?
This is a common worry of many mums, and one you can leave at the door of the venue :-)
Babies have their own agendas, so the class is designed as a relaxed space where you and your baby are welcome to go with the flow, feeding, changing, rocking and resting as you see fit.
While you attend to your baby’s needs, you’ll always be able to join in with the breathing, watch the massage to have a go at home, and enjoy the supportive company of other new mums too.
What do I need to bring?
To make it as easy for you as possible, I provide all equipment: yoga mats, blocks, cushions & blankets.
All you need to bring is an extra blanket or towel for your baby to lie on, as well as some massage oil of your choice (I recommend organic, non-scented sunflower, grapeseed or coconut oil).
You are of course welcome to bring your own yoga mat if you prefer.
