“Yoga with Amelie is amazing!
She knows what new mums go through and how to remind you to breathe again!
The 1:1 postnatal yoga sessions we had in the early days got me through the tough initial recovery - physically, mentally and emotionally. Amelie is calm, professional, knowledgeable and caring, and my baby adores her too!”

FAQs

How will postnatal yoga help me?

Specialist postnatal yoga focuses on closing, strengthening and realigning your post-pregnancy body, helping you:

  • regain alignment & posture

  • reconnect with and re-strengthen your deep core, back and pelvic floor

  • address aches and pains linked to feeding and carrying
support daily functional movements such as lifting, carrying

  • reduce stress and find rest & relaxation at a time when you most need it.

How soon can I start after giving birth?

While the majority of ‘postnatal exercise' classes are only open to women from 6/8 weeks after birth (after the routine check with their GP), my unique gentle approach means that postnatal classes are suitable, beneficial and safe for all women, from as soon as a few after birth for one-to-one classes, regardless of the type of birth you had (including Caesarean births) and your level of fitness.

This utilises the body’s natural ‘golden window’ for postnatal recovery. However, it is never too late to start!

What can I expect from a one-to-one session?

Although sessions will differ from person to person, we will always start with a chat so that I can understand where you’re at and what you most need that day.
We will then go through a series of stretches, exercises and flow, breathwork and always ending with a relaxation.
I usually do a mix of demonstration and observation, always in conversation, to ensure the moves feel right for you, and they’re doing what they should do.
The session(s) will also equip you with short but effective practices easy to replicate at home to continue supporting your recovery.
